We’re Lydia and Jess - this is why we built Eco Babe.

We first met while working in the same nursery and quickly bonded over a shared passion for early years care and a belief that children deserve more than just a safe place to be. Although our careers later took us into different roles and settings, we stayed in touch as friends, continuing to share ideas and a growing sense that the sector could do better.

After more than a decade working in early years, everything changed when Lydia became a first time mum. Suddenly, the search for childcare was deeply personal. Like many parents, we wanted exceptional care, beautiful environments, knowledgeable leadership, and meaningful, ongoing investment in learning spaces. What we were looking for simply didn’t exist.

So we decided to create it.

Eco Babe was built entirely from the ground up, shaped by hands on work, determination, and an unwavering set of standards. From Lydia painting walls with a six month old strapped to her chest during maternity leave, to Jess juggling a full time management role until just weeks before opening, every detail reflects our commitment to doing things properly.

Now, five years on and hundreds of families later, it’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed. In that time, we’ve helped shape the early years of hundreds of little people. The baby who gazed on as the nursery was created around her is now thriving at school, having had the very best start with us.

Eco Babe today is defined by extraordinary environments, exceptional spaces, and a level of care we would only ever choose for our own children - and for yours too. We hope you love it just as much as we do!
